I’m Lindsay, and I created The Wade Well Method to support the angling community through the lens and application of functional movement, joint health and longevity, and mindfulness protocol. I’m a formally trained MovNat natural movement and strength coach, Functional Range Conditioning mobility specialist, yoga teacher, mindfulness educator, and certified fly fish instructor.

When I stepped into the sport I immediately began studying the details of my own movement patterns, joint prerequisites, and potential pain-points and areas of physical and mental obstacles. As I began to build relationships with a broad network of fellow anglers I continued to add to the list of areas where others were also experiencing challenges(balance, squatting, falling and getting back up, mindset management, mental stress within new environments, overall mobility, joint pain, foot dysfunction, injury recurrence, etc.) that were distinctly interfering and impacting their ability to reap the benefits of time spent on the water.

Within my own relationship with the outdoors and fly fishing I’ve found a profoundly impactful means with which to both tend to my mental health and support my physical well-being. After experiencing multiple instances related to both chronic pain and autoimmune neurological dysfunction where I was abruptly pulled away from my own angling practice, I became convinced that it was time to dive headfirst into designing a comprehensive whole body health system specifically for anglers and the unique demands that we place on our bodies and mental obstacles uncovered while exploring diverse terrain.

The Wade Well Method is my answer to a glaring blind spot within the fishing industry. Since its inception in 2019 I’ve since had the opportunity to teach in partnership with elite fly fishing schools including The School of Trout and The Anglers Academy, create and teach fly fish and mindfulness programs in collaboration with Patagonia, and have shared virtual education with noteworthy partners including April Vokey’s Anchored Outdoors community, SheJumps, Fly Fishers International, and Rising to the Fly. Additionally, I’ve coordinated and led over 20 fly fish and well-being retreats and school programs and continue to guest teach and co-faciliate with well-aligned colleagues.

A Minnesota native, I currently live in Montana and frequently travel both nationally and internationally to share Wade Well within a wide range of communities.

My personal and professional values and ethos center providing resources and opportunities for diverse and underrepresented communities. Completing the Angling for All curriculum on two occasions alongside the Outdoorist Oath progam, I’m invested in my growth and allyship to create greater equity and inclusion in the outdoor and wellness spaces.
