I’m Lindsay Kocka, and I’m a lifelong student of movement, human behavior, and the wild places that shape us.

I’m a therapeutic yoga teacher, Functional Range Conditioning mobility specialist, and MovNat natural movement trainer. I’m also a fly fishing instructor, and hold a B.A. in Anthropology, where I studied human behavior across cultures, physical anthropology, and human evolution — exploring how our bodies and brains are shaped by environment, adaptation, and movement.

Over the past decade, I’ve woven these threads together to create the Wade Well Method: a neuro-informed, movement-based approach to fly fishing and outdoor life that supports strength, mobility, resilience, and longevity in the sport.

My work sits at the intersection of fly fishing, functional movement, and applied neuroscience. I’m deeply interested in how we experience time on the water, and how attention, perception, recovery, skill acquisition, and physical capacity influence not just performance, but enjoyment and sustainability. Through the Wade Well Method, I help anglers build adaptable bodies, regulated nervous systems, and the physical confidence needed to access and enjoy wild landscapes for years to come.

My teaching journey began in 2012, guiding mindful movement classes for students of all kinds — from professional cyclists and competitive rock climbers to everyday people eager to move, breathe, and feel better. Over time, my own love for fly fishing grew into professional instruction and retreat facilitation, where I began noticing a gap: anglers often had the passion and curiosity, but not the physical preparation or recovery tools to support longevity in the sport. Wade Well was built to solve that problem.

I also lead fly fishing schools and educational programs that integrate casting instruction, river knowledge, and neuro-informed movement principles to make the sport more accessible and sustainable.

As a consultant and program designer and facilitator, I’ve worked with brands and organizations including Patagonia, Arc’teryx, lululemon, Athleta, prAna, The North Face, Free People, Anthropologie, SheJumps, Casting for Recovery, April Vokey’s Anchored Outdoors, The Angler’s Academy, The School of Trout, Sage Lodge, Copper Rose Ranch, Bodhi Farms, Chico Hot Springs, FFI Women Connect, and Take Me Fishing.

Originally from Minnesota, I now call Montana home. Whether I’m teaching the Wade Well Method or leading fly fishing education my focus remains the same: Helping people move well, think clearly, and stay connected to the wild places that keep us human.
